Are you considered disabled if decent correction is in place

i have a fairly serious cleft palate that was closed up very early after birth. Nowadays, techniques are available for surgical repair in the palate to restore speech. I wear a speech appliance into my throat which works well. I sound different, but am easily understood and my disability has become an advantage in some ways. I do presentations and webinars and have no issues (as long as my appliance doesn't break). I've never thought of myself as disabled, but on changing jobs started wondering if I should be checking the disability box on the application forms (used for company metrics).

If the disability is corrected to the extent that it's not limiting (although one is clearly different), are you legally disabled?
