I called SS and was told by one of their representatives that I was denied. My application at that time said a medical decision had been made. Now it says Appeal Under Review Medical Decision has been made?? What does this mean? Am I still denied?

Decision after hearing

I called the hearing office today(9/29) and was told a decision was made on 9/25 and I should receive a letter in 3 to 5 days. My lawyer and the local office do NOT have this info. So I called back verified it and the gentleman said they won't have that info until I receive the letter and take it in to my local office. Does that mean favorable?

How Often is the My SSI website updated?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I've been enduring this nightmarish, life-altering process since July 2016. Got 1st denial as expected 5 mos after filing, and 2nd denial of reconsideration a month after that. It took another 17 months to schedule the hearing which was held in Oct 2018. The website has not updated since the hearing date was set. It still says my claim is processing. Aren't they supposed to provide at least basic updates?

What Does This Status Mean?

Had my hearing October 2018 after waiting since July 2016. Online status says: "Post-hearing Review

Your hearing was held. The Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) is reviewing your case, and we are developing for any additional evidence before the ALJ issues a decision. A Social Security Representative may contact you or your appointed representative if we need any additional documents or information." What does this mean?
