August is Psoriasis Month
Every August, the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) brings together all those affected by the condition, psoriasis, to support them.
The main aim of the NPF is to ultimately find a cure. Psoriasis affects over 8 million people in the United States.
People who have psoriasis develop a higher risk of developing other serious health conditions like cardiovascular disease, depression and type-2 diabetes.
One of the main symptoms is a skin rash which could also occur in the joints and nails. This can lead to pain in those areas.
