I need to know how to get my mother disability benefits. She has had mental problems all of her life and has been in and out of mental hospitals for most of my life. She used to be on disability; however, she wanted to prove that she could work so she got off the system. She did ok for a while, but she can't hold down a job due to her problems (depression and paranoia). Now she also has major chronic health problems that keep her from moving around very much without completely losing her breath. Since she just lost her last temp job due to this she doesn't have any health insurance to pay for her medication. What can I do to help her? I am at my wits end. In her effort to do it herself she has refused to go to therapy for years. Now she says that she just can't afford it.
