Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis in Jan this year. Since becoming ill, my anxiety and depression have become so bad that I barely leave the house. I hate being in crowds and in public. I have had surgeries already this year and I am awaiting the third next month. There is no cure and this chronic illness has left me tired, weak, with diabetes, neuropathy, nausea, chronic vomiting, chronic fatigue and a body that aches daily.

Does my mom qualify for disability benefits? sos

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

My mom came to the US in 2016. In 2017 she's got a good job elderly care services. All of a sudden she couldn't do her job because of her physical condition. We found out that back in her country she was on disability program already. She had two strokes in 1995 and in 2007, three breast surgeries (cancer), osteoporosis etc..
She is a green card holder, have an alien number, and SSN. Here is my question: Does my mom qualify for disability?

Income qualifications

What is the income cutoff for qualifying for SSI or SSDI? I have severe Rhuematoid Arthritis and have Bipolar Disorder and have not been able to work for several years. Even if I meet the condition qualifications I'm afraid my husband might make too much money.

Legally blind...as though I looked AT the sun

Hello, so I was blinded in 2009 by a Clear Cell Meningioma (benign brain tumor) and it grew so large it destroyed my optic nerves leaving the central vision in my right eye 100% gone and the vision in my left eye with about 50-60% central vision usable. My left eye is the only reason I can live a some what "normal" life but the vision loss is severe enough to take me out of most things. I can still walk and navigate my way around but I can't see detail or anything "at a glance". This condition is permanent.

Addison's disease

I am currently on long term disability and suffer from both epilepsy and Addison's disease. When I started disability, I had a complex partial seizure about every other day. I have slowly had my seizures improved, and they may no longer be frequent enough to qualify for disability if my case is reevaluated. But my Addison's disease has slowly progressed to now cause frequent extreme fatigue, which my endocrinologist indicated cannot be eliminated. When disability started, I only rarely had Addison's fatigue.

What Does an Advocate Actually Do?

I have severe PTSD and related anxiety issues, and there are certain things I can't do. Obviously, since that's literally what disability means.

Typically I end up crying and stuttering incoherently on the phone, usually ending in a panic attack. Going to the doctor is a guaranteed panic attack, probable dissociation, and possible violent lashing out and running away.
So... the two main things that they rely on to make a decision are two things that I can't do by myself...
