I am the representative payee for my son, who has hypoxic brain injury.
I recently learned I was supposedly "under investigation" in a jurisdiction I don't, nor have ever lived in! It's been a mess trying to get it straight. I called the social services dept in question about this and was told I am not, nor was I ever under investigation. The reason I know it was my ex is because HE lives there! He is currently facing trial for crimes against said son...
I was told it's not considered a form of abuse, nor is it apparently a crime?!? If it isn't, it should be! My brother had to pawn his own belongings to help me pay my rent!
How would this NOT qualify as abuse or criminal behavior? He's out on bond, right now. It's not right that he can just get away with this, because my son and I would most likely have been evicted...I can't pay my bills, and I can't buy things I need, such as food, gas for my car, etc...
What can be done to punish him? Something needs to be done...if he gets away with it, how many others are getting away with this?
