Respiratory issues dictate work location

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

About 9 months ago, I had to quit working with birds after many yrs due to constant coughing and diminished lung capacity. At that time, I'd gone to a 3 day work week to lessen my exposure to the workplace. Upon being transferred to another dept in another building I resumed work in an office setting but due to the inversions and pollution in the valley where I work, I still cough when exposed to the pollution trapped in the valley throughout much of the winter. Any employment I obtain will require travel to the valley and will exacerbate the respiratory issues. I live at a much hiher elevation outside of town and don't experience the coughing and wheezing at home. This seems to fit the criteria for disability due to respiratory problems....should I apply? And is it true that I cannot work at ALL during the review period? How does one survive?.
