Sarcoidosis

Good afternoon everyone,

I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis over 15 years ago. Though it effects my ability to breath at times, it's most devastating effect is my loss of ability to move from the waist down due to tumors and lesions within my spinal cord and head. I've lost about 90% mobility to my left leg and about 75% mobility to my right. They seize and lock up, making it feel as though I'm being electrocuted.

My condition greatly effected my ability to perform my job. It became evident that I was getting worse and began missing work because of my condition. And even though my employers would never admit to it, I became a liability to them, because if I fell and hurt myself badly, it may fall under worker's compensation.

Now, I'm unemployed. Because of my inability to control my legs in a normal fashion, I am unable to drive a car safely. And as my bank account dwindles, I feel a slight panic coming on, because I don't have that many options.

Has anyone else filed for disability due to the effects of Sarcoidosis? If so, what has been your experience. Any information you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.
