I receive total diability as a veteran, can I collect ssi or ssdi?

My son has a speech disorder and is in speech therepy. Would he qualify for disability?

My sister was approved upon first app back in 2008. As a teen, she was raped and assaulted. Has ptsd from that, fear of people, and a multitude of health problems. She's in her 20s now, has scoliosis, arthritis in hips and wrists, has already had hip and wrist surgeries and will need more eventually. Will need her wrist fused directly to her hand eventually. Severe depression from the pain, insomnia. I'm sure I'm leaving some out.

My understanding is that a disability insurance policy with a (cola rider) would pay out a cost of living increase every year CPI rises. But I have a question if a disability insurance provider can reduce (previous years Cola payouts) if CPI is flat or actually drops going forward. So say you are making $300 a month on your Cola rider and CPI flatline or drops the following year. Can your disability insurance carrier reduce you Cola payment from $300 a month to something less?

Have received SSDI, since I was 58. I am currently 63 and my full retirement age is 66. If in 2016 (when I'm 64), SSDI reduces payments by 20%, can I convert SSDI to Social Security, being my reduced percentage would be less than the proposed 20% and if yes, how do I go about doing that?

I am looking to marry my girlfriend that is 70 years old and did not work much. She only gets about $80 per month of SSI. Can she be able to choose half of mine, after we are married? I already know that it will not effect my payments.

My daughter receives SSDI payments monthly from my husband's SSDI case. I know as a representative Payee that I need to hold on to receipts of what has been spent for her care, but I can't find anywhere how long they should be held onto - seven years like the IRS? Until the next report is filed and accepted? Until she turns 18 and no longer receives SSDI? I'd really appreciate an answer, she's been receiving payments for over 7 years now and I'd like to weed out unnecessary paperwork if possible. Thanks!
