To Top It Off Now They Have Diagnosed Me As Having Depression & Put Me On More Pills. 1-9-16 it will be a yr since I've worked. Everything is documented. I have 8 specialists. My husband & I live on 1 income. We have to travel almost 50 miles one way for me to see my doctors, get blood work, xrays, ct scans, mri's, & surgery. Yet at the end of Aug 2016 SSDI denied my application. I can't stand for longer than 15 minutes at a time. Sit for 20-25 minutes. Absolutely no stairs. Takes me 6 minutes to walk 1 block. No bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, lifting over 5lbs. I haven't drove since 11- 2016. Yes, I take pain medication. Have for years. My body gets immune to them, so they prescribe New ones that me all up. Most nights I sleep 2 hrs. Rarely do I sleep 4 hrs. YES, IVE HAD A LAWYER SINCE DAY 1.
No other lawyer will even talk to me as long as I'm already being represented. Think I'm being screwed & she won't withdraw from my case. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Hi There,
I'm sorry to hear about that! Generally a hearing takes about 17 months, so if you've only been denied for the first application, you may be able to appeal their decision.

I was on disability but I let the time lapse on my Recertification due to my sister almost passing and I traveled to San Antonio to be with her In the hospital in ICU. .I returned home to my ailing husband whom was on retirement but he was in the hospital and then shortly placed under the care of hospice and then he passed. I have no means of support and I am unable to work since I've been disabled and been on disability since I believe 2009 or 2010. I know I qualify for the lump sum payment but I don't know what I need to do concerning my disability case and my deceased spouses benefits that I should also receive. My mental health prevents me from doing anything in a normal fashion and I get overwhelmed easily. I had an advocate from mhmr that got my disability started and established and I need an advocate that can act in and on my behalf. Is there any hope and I help for me?
