Stage III Breast Cancer

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I was diagnosed with Stage IIIC Breast Cancer in October 2016.
My lymph nodes were positive for cancer in 8/13 nodes. One was a
subpectoral lymph nodes, and another was an inner mammary lymph node.

This classification of disability is listed in the SS Blue Book as a qualifying disability.

I spoke to my doctor about applying for disability and she said that I will probably only qualify for temporary disability. I don't work full time, so my employer does not offer temporary disability benefits.

Since my disability is listed in the blue book, does it matter what my doctor's opinion is? Like if he believes after treatment, I could return to work?

Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear that! You may be able to apply without your doctor's opinion regarding your condition, however medical evidence is needed for the application.
