Legally blind...as though I looked AT the sun

Hello, so I was blinded in 2009 by a Clear Cell Meningioma (benign brain tumor) and it grew so large it destroyed my optic nerves leaving the central vision in my right eye 100% gone and the vision in my left eye with about 50-60% central vision usable. My left eye is the only reason I can live a some what "normal" life but the vision loss is severe enough to take me out of most things. I can still walk and navigate my way around but I can't see detail or anything "at a glance". This condition is permanent. I am also type 1 Diabetic, have a herniated disc (at L5) and diagnosed bi-polar. I was able to retain my employment at the company I was working for at the time I was blinded but I moved to CO and found that my vision loss makes it beyond difficult to find and keep a job. I've been asked/told by countless people to "go on disability.....so here I am. Do I stand a chance? I am a 36 year old man.
