To ensure your benefits any funds distributed would need to be placed in (special needs) trust for you.

Thanks for sharing! It's true, a special needs trust can help protect an SSI recipient from running into the financial resource limit for SSI.

Hi Chris,
If you're receiving SSDI benefits, then it may not have any effect if it is considered unearned income.
