Does anybody know whether that SSI back pay comes on a certain day of the month? I got my first installment the same week I was approved for SSI it came on the same day I got my first benefit. But I should receive one in January and I'm trying to figure out when I will see it? If anyone has any experience with receiving them in would love to hear about it!

Hi Laura,
Backpay installments usually come 6 months apart so you should be receiving it sometime this month. If you don't, you can contact the SSA.

Typically, back pay is paid about four months after the first payment is received.
how long does it take to get your back pay? what date would it come on? before it comes will i get a letter or something to let me know when the date is i would except my check in one big sum?

You need to contact the SSA to do that. You can go into your local office to apply.

Okay I have been reading the post and all questions have been redirected to the office... Who is in charge of releasing the back pay ? I have read 60 days after then and on the hand four months after? Which is it ?

Quick question my son was just approved april 2018 for ssi and we received his first ssi check in may 2018 and now he is suppose to receive back and nothing.... they told me 1 to 2 weeks and nothing, what should I do??
