So I applied 3-25-20. About a week ago my account said a medical decision has been made and we are working to process your benefit application. Then yesterday I logged in and I clicked on the link that says decision made, and it said a decision has been made and we will send a letter with a detailed explanation. Also my account now has all types of estimates and it says you have enough work credits. Your benefit amount would be $××× if you were disabled today. Why are all these SS estimates on there when they weren't before? I guess I'm denied since the link didn't say approved??

"The Disability Determination Service for your state is processing the medical portion of your benefit application. If they need additional information or evidence from you, they will contact you directly" online when i check my account?

Hi Elizabeth,

It means that DDS is looking at your claim to see if you are medically eligible for benefits. If they need more information to decide if you qualify, they will reach out to you.

A Decision Has Been Made On Your Benefit Application
Your claim for Disability benefits has been processed. A notice has been sent to you with a detailed explanation of the decision.

If you disagree with the decision, you may request an appeal within 60 days of the date on the "Notice of Decision" you receive.

it does not say if denied or approved but yesterday it did not show my estimated benefits amount and when i click on the download your statement it shows my date of birth does this indicate i was probably denied?

Hi Mark,

I would not read too much into this status, you will not be able to know for sure until you receive the notice. Best of luck!

Hi Martha,

It means that the SSA has made a decision on your claim. You should receive a letter in the mail stating if you were approved or denied disability benefits.

I was denied Social Security (Disability) but still waiting on SSI (Disability). If they denied SSD am I to assume I will be denied SSI?

Hi Mark,

There are two different sets of criteria used for SSDI and SSI. SSDI deals only with your condition and work history. SSI is based on financial need. I would not assume that a denial of one means a denial of the other.

I'm 55 with degenerative arthritis, had a double knee replacement back in 2011, know it's in my hands and my feet have problems. I've applied for SS Disability it's in for quality review, what do you personally think my chances are in receiving SSD.

Hi Kim,

Arthritis is a qualifying condition, so as long as you meet the Blue Book listing and have enough work credits, you may qualify for SSDI.
