Is it possible to win without an RFC

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Most of my records are from a free clinic as I don't have insurance anymore. They won't do an RFC and really don't know much about my physical impairments as do my foot doctor and my hand doctor. The free clinic mostly has treated me for my mental issues since I lost my insurance. Is it possible to win SSDI without an RFC?

Hi there,
Regardless of where they come from, if you have medical records, you may be eligible to win without an RFC. In your case, it may be a good idea to contact a disability advocate or attorney, as they can help maximize your chances of winning your case. We can put you in touch with one if you fill out the form on the left or go here:

I have an attorney and I have my hearing September 16th. I have lots of medical records from both the free clinic and other doctors. I just never asked my doctors to fill out an RFC and I'm not so sure they would anyway they have a company that does all their paperwork and so having an RFC done by a third party probably wouldn't be in my best interest.
I have a disease in both my feet and I can't stand or walk very long. I've had two major surgeries on my left foot and one on my right foot. I am 51 years old. I'm not sure the free clinic would do an RFC, but I will ask when I go on the 6th of September.

Well, according to that article, I'm probably better off without an RFC. My doctors at the free clinic are very supportive of me and my disability. My foot doctor was also very supportive.
