Do I Qualify?

Submitted by Deanna on

I was just wondering if i were to qualify for social Security. I have Cerebal Palsey and epilepsy seziures. I recently turned 18 and my parents said i was able to collect social security since i was diagnosis at the age of 3. But they never did because they were my parents. But now since im growing up i think it would really help me out. I'm the only one in my family to have a disability with sezuires and epilepsy seziures. This is all new to my parents and I so i would very much appreciate the help. Please and thank you!

disability won't give you money if you didn't pay your taxes that's why the income is what you receive as opposed to 2k 3k and 4k. and maybe 5k.or more. If your income is more than 800$ a month disability won't give you money thus your disability equality to another person is unlawful. Social Security won't match your disability as they underestimate your illness opposed to someone else also UNLAWFUL. Disability states that you "didn't give the system money" meaning didn't pay your "taxes" for them you give the right form of estimated money for your illness. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Hi Ruthy,
This is true, if you do not pay FICA taxes ( also known as social security payroll tax), you may not qualify for disability benefit based on your work record.

I have asthma. I'm 57 years old. When I go outside in the heat or try to do anything for more than a few minutes I get out of breath and need my inhaler. But it doesn't last long.

I'm sorry to tell you, SSD does not care. I spent 6 years overseas. After witnessing so many murders and my life being put into jeopardy every day, SSD does not care that I can't function because of my PTSD. I have flashbacks, panic attacks, and incapacitating anxiety every day. This has been confirmed by 3 doctors. After going to one of their (Social Security) doctors in Lexington KY and having a panic attack during the evaluation, SSD determined I'm fine to go back to work. I guess I'll have to look for a job in a gun shop. I wonder if SSD would approve of that, or maybe they just do not care.

Dear PTSD Survivor,

I am so sorry to hear about your condition. PTSD can qualify you for SSDI, however the process is a little bit longer because of the condition you have. I am unaware of the legality of working at the gun shop with PTSD, you would have to speak to the owner about that.

Best Wishes,
Eric
