Disfunction to the point of being unemployable

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

My husband partied hard as a young man in his teens and early 20's. He is now 60 years old and so disfunctional (I.e. concentration and the ability to successfully manage even minor chores) he really can't hold a job. I have been supporting him for 18 years. It's not that he doesn't want to work...he truly does and he tries hard but can't manage to write up simple paperwork correctly. He has also had 4 very major surgeries in the past six years that have left him unable to do physical labor. Any other ideas on how to help him?

Hi there,
Your husband may be eligible for disability benefits, but I would not be able to say for sure. It may be a good idea to speak with a disability advocate or attorney, they may be able to improve your chance of getting awarded benefits. If you fill out the form to the left of this page, we can have one reach out to you.
