SSI and house deed

If I am on a house deed and not live in the house. Can I still get SSI?

Hi there,
You may not be eligible if you own property that is not your primary residence.

I would be on a deed of distribution with my brother. My brother gets SSI. He lived with my mother and she passed away in April. He still is living there. So he would be ok with SSI then. I would be ok then if I moved in. I get SSI too. It is a joint deed.

Hi there,
You may have to do that to receive SSI benefits, but it's a good idea to contact the SSA regarding this.
