My girlfriend passed away at age 23, leaving behind me (now 29)and my 2 year old daughter(now 4). She never worked or contributed to SS, but received food stamps and my daughter received Medicaid. I am a worker and have earned the qualifying amount of credits to receive benefits. I talked to a SS worker but was told that she did not qualify for any such benefit, but I am repeatedly told by others that I am. Whether its Parent benefits or Survivor benefits they are referring to is unknown, but are adamant enough for me to look into.

I am 43 and have more than one condition that would qualify me for disability. I spent many years working part time. I was mostly a stay at home mom. I was married 13 years. Can I file for disability benefits under my ex husband due to lack of work?

Disabled

I’ve recently had my drivers license taken away and diagnosed with Dementia. I’m divorced after 30 yrs, stayed home with my children since spouse was military and then law enforcement officer so didn’t really work outside the home but a few years. I qualify for disability but was told I make 10$ to much and then I didn’t work enough to pay into Social security! Is it possible to go after his Social security now? Or does he have to be over 60 yrs old? Anything else I can get from him since I can’t work?
