Hi Jennifer,
If you were awarded SSDI, then it will come in one lump sum. If you were awarded SSI, then it will come in 3 installments. If you need the payment now, you may be able to request it for a dire-need situation.
Hello can anybody help me my son is 5 and just got approved for ssi. Now they told me his back pay would start right away. Can i get a rush on it cause we behind in rent ?

I recently went to court to appeal for my disability which I won but when I went through my phone interview today I got told that my back pay would be spread out to around 2000 than in 6 months around another 2000. I told the lady that i was kinda depending on the back pay so I could get my DL issues fixed and get a car plus find a place of my own. She told me that I could submit a letter asking for more finds. I'm not sure what to put in the letter.
