Direct Deposit

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I currently receive SSI for my middle son, it comes to me in the form of a check. How do I get this to be direct deposit into my checking account?

My July ssi payment was sent to a bank account that put a freeze on my account. I called social security after i opened a new account and changed all my information with them and yes my deposit had bounced back to them, I was informed that they had deposited a new check on July 16th into new account yet its not showing. How long does it take to be posted?

Hi Victoria,

I really can't say for sure. But if you still haven't received it by now I would recommend speaking with a SSA representative before the end of the business day today.

Hi Tommy,

I am sorry to hear that. You may want to call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213 to see if they can shed any light on your situation.

I recently lost my wallet which had my WalMart Visa. debit card that my check is deposited on (btw, they pay about 6 days early). I had to change cards about 3 days before the first. My money hasn't been paid yet. I've contacted. social security and they said wait at. least til the third before contacting them again.

I have no food, no gas, and overdue bills. Is they're anything I can do (besides 'contact SSA, the pat answer here)

Hi Steven,

I am so sorry to hear that. If you haven't heard from the SSA, maybe reach out to a rep from your bank to see if there has been any changes or any suspicious activity.

Hi Ginger,

The amount of hours do not matter, however if you earn more than $771 in a month, that could trigger a trial work period.

Hi Ashley,

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like your sons might still be in the application process if they just did an interview. If they haven't been approved yet, then that is why they haven't received a payment yet. If they were approved already, you should have received a letter in the mail that explains when they should begin receiving benefits. I would reference that letter to see what day they should begin. Best of luck!
