It means that a decision has not been made on your claim, so you still have not been approved or denied. The SSA is still evaluating if you qualify for disability benefits.
I applied for both SSI and SSDI. I went for a hearing before ALJ and received my decision denying my SSI but I don't know if it includes a denial for SSDI also? Do you receive a letter for both?
Sometimes you can be denied for one and not the other. I would try checking your MySSA account or talking with your lawyer (if you worked with one). If you're still not sure, you can call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213! Best of luck.
I applied for ssi and ssdi in July of 2019. I call a couple of days ago to check on the status. It say pending...what does that mean
Pending means the SSA is still working on making a decision on your claim.
I was denied ssi but SSDI is still processing. I am so confused. Will I be denied SSDI since I was denied Ssi.
It's possible to be denied SSI but approved for SSDI. Both have the same medical requirements. They differ in technical requirements. For SSI, you need to be below an income limit while for SSDI, you need a specific number of work credits based on your age. It's possible that you exceeded SSI's income limits so you were denied. The SSA may be checking to see if you have enough work credits for SSDI.
How long does it takes for a decision for ssi
It varies on a case to case basis! Best of luck.
