HI there,

HI there,
You may want to contact the SSA regarding this, but if you were awarded benefits you would receive a letter stating so in the next few months.

John
I also received the following

I also received the following status update:
"Appeal Under Review

A medical decision has been made and we are working to process your decision. A Social Security Representative may contact you or your appointed representative directly if we need any additional documents or information."
Why would they tell me that a decision has been made and not tell me just what the decision was? Like Favorable or Unfavorable?

Hi John,

Hi John,
I could not say as we are not affiliated with the SSA. You may want to contact them regarding this.

Hi John,

Hi John,
I really could not say when your letter would arrive as we are not affiliated with the SSA and we would not have this information. Generally you would receive a letter after being officially approved.

Hi There,

Hi There,

Thanks.. I called today and

Thanks.. I called today and they said I should receive a letter this week... I'm nervous next I'm getting a answer so soon so I'm thinking I might be denied however I have been waiting 8 months since my hearing.

Hi There,

Hi There,

Understand that you're nervous about this. If you are denied, you can always appeal the decision with the help of a Social Security attorney.

You may want to keep this link handy, in case it is denied:https://www.disability-benefits-help.org/form/free-disability-evaluation

Wishing you nothing but the best.

Hi, I had my disability

Hi, I had my disability hearing on 03-21-18. When should I start calling SSA for any updates or is it still to early. Also I wanted to ask can your attorney find out for you instead of me calling Thank you!

Hi Donna,

Hi Donna,

Every case is different so I can't give a definitive time. Typically your lawyer will find out if your were approved or denied before you are, so you can contact your lawyer to find out more information.

Hearing on 8/2/18 verbally

Hearing on 8/2/18 verbally approved by the judge , called the 800 number and they couldn’t tell me the decision. I’m so panicking as I’m 3 months late in my mortgage. What does this means and if the judge approved it can anyone overturned his decision, my lawyer was there present at my hearing. Please someone enlight me with any information that might know about this long process. Thanks

Hi Nia,

Hi Nia,

I would contact your lawyer and see if they have heard the decision. They often hear the decision for your case before you. Best of luck!

The VA has me at 100% total

The VA has me at 100% total and permanent disability.
I applied for SSDI. I’m 58.
I applied in February 2019 I received a denial letter in May 201 I received a denial letter in May 2019 I was shocked with all my injuries from service I was turned down. I am now in the reconsideration process.

Hi Art,

Hi Art,

So sorry! It may be that you do not have enough work credits for SSDI. Your denial letter should explain why you were denied.

Right I would love to know

Right I would love to know what that mean also I'm in the same process right now.

Hi There,

Hi There,

It means they are still processing your claim. If they need anything else from you, they will reach out. Once a decision is made, you will receive a letter in the mail.

Zy
But if you says a decision

But if you says a decision has been made, then a letter would be sent out immediately?

Hi Zy,

Hi Zy,

That means that the SSA has made a decision on your case. The letter should explain if you were approved or denied and why!

Dee
The SSA site states that I’m

The SSA site states that I’m denied for SSI but that my appeal is under review for SSDI .. It also states that a medical decision has been made ..
I received a letter confirming the denial of SSI due to medical reasons
As I have Sarcoidosis, COPD , Endometriosis, Obesity, Hypertension , Sever Anemia,Rhumetoid Arthritis plus more and the judge states I’m too young and my illnesses can limit me , but not stop me from working I have to take breaks n he states I can only sit for 2 hours and only walk for one hour

Hi There,

Hi There,

I am so sorry to hear that. It is difficult to be approved for both SSI and SSDI at the same time though. Best of luck of the SSDI decision.

smiller
the ALJ asked if I would

the ALJ asked if I would change the onset date. Does this mean that I am approved?

Hi Smiller,

Hi Smiller,

Onset date usually refers to the date you began experiencing your disabling condition. The ALJ asking does not mean that you were approved or denied. They may need that information to further evaluate your claim.

Dave
No hearing date yet. But when

No hearing date yet. But when I checked the site it reads Appeal under review, Decision has been made

Hi Dave,

Hi Dave,

If a decision has been made, then you should be receiving a letter in the mail shortly that will explain if you were approved or denied and the next steps. Best of luck!

Hello, I had my hearing on 10

Hello, I had my hearing on 10-3-19 with a AJ and a Disability lawyer, and when all was said and done, my lawyer said I most likely will win my case and had me sign a piece of paper even the judge asked if it was filled out, and the lawyer took me outside the hearing and said I was in favor however when checking the ssa website say still pending waiting on medical decision, what does this mean? I am on pins and needles and my lawyer is out of town, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Harley,

Hi Harley,

It means that they are still processing your claim. I would keep checking in with your lawyer once they are back. Your lawyer will likely find out if you were approved or denied before you receive a letter with the decision.
