Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)

Online award letter error?

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I am waiting on my back pay for SSDI. My EOD is May 2011 but the letter online says, "Information About Past Social Security Benefits

From December 2013 to March 2014, the full monthly Social Security benefit before any deductions was $869.90.

We deducted $0.00 for medical insurance premiums each month.

The regular monthly Social Security payment was $869.00.
(We must round down to the whole dollar.).

My question is why are the dates different than my EOD?

SSDI Diagnosis Information

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I have been on SSDI for over a year now, and I am trying to get a copy of the diagnosis codes that SSDI has filed on me. I requested this information by calling SS and was told they can only disclose that information to my doctor and it would be up to him to share MY information with ME. Having MS, heart problems and bone disease I donot know which of these or if all of these have entitled me to receive SSDI but would like to know. MY disability was granted without a hearing and relatively fast. I just feel it is my right to know what they have my disability labeled as.

Hi,

My wife and I are disabled and have been on SS for about 10 years. Last year my wife decided to change banks and went through the process to do so with the SSA. She decided not long after that she wanted to stay where she was and contacted the SSA to cancel, which they said they did over the phone and we confirmed it on the web site.

Applying for SS retirement while disability application is pending

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I have submitted an initial application for SSDI benefits and no determination has been made at this time. I am now eligible to apply for retirement benefits. Do I have to wait until a disability decision is made before doing so? Also, if I do begin receiving retirement funds can I continue to pursue the disability case?

SSDI and Marriage

Hi

I am currently on SSDI...but I was told my case is "labeled"...or flagged SSI so that I can continue to receive medicaid...and because I am working.

How will my benefit be effected once I get married, with this SSI label? I was told it could effect my medicaid but haven't been able to find an answer concerning my actual payments.

Benefits

I receive disability from SS and my son did as a dependent. He turned 18 back last Jan. and received benefits until June 2013. He received a letter stating that his benefits would end in June. I got the forms signed by his school stating that he is still a student until 2014. He attends an early college high school but he has still not graduated high school. I haven't heard anything in over 60 days. Does social security not recognize early college high schools as secondary education?
