I am 62 years old. I have shrank from 5'2" to 4'11-3/4". I have psoriatic arthritis and severe osteoarthritis with spinal stenosis. If I continue to lose height, would I qualify for disability? I still work but struggle to do so.

Hi there,
While you may not qualify based on height, you may qualify based on your current conditions, and it may be a good idea to apply for benefits.
However, many people are denied initially and it may be a good idea to speak with a disability advocate or attorney. If you fill out the form on the left, or go here:

we can have one reach out to you.

Hi Anita,
I really would not be able to say as I am not a doctor and I do not have the expertise to assess that.

Hi Crystal,
I'm sorry to hear that! You may want to have your parents or guardians arrange to speak with a disability advocate or attorney with you if this is an ongoing condition that is resistant to treatment.

Just wondering I am 4 feet 11 inches I've always thought I was just short lol but unexplainable health conditions like arthritis on my spine and my bones ALWAYS hurting and other things going on I've wanted to be tested for dwarfism I heard there is something they started testing for 3 years ago called npr2 dwarfism?

Hi there,
if your stature is impeding your ability to work, you may be eligible for benefits. It may be a good idea to contact a disability advocate or attorney, they would be able to help you through the application process and can fight for your if you need to appeal the SSA's decision. You can have one reach out to you if you fill out this form here:
