SSA Adds 12 New Compassionate Allowances

Twelve new conditions were added to the compassionate allowances program on August 15, 2022. The compassionate allowances program now has 266 conditions that qualify for expedited claims approval with the proper medical evidence and supporting documentation. If you have a condition on the CAL, you can access disability benefits much more quickly.

From April 27th 2022 most Social Security offices commenced offering their face-to-face services again. This includes attending an office without arranging a prior appointment. If you prefer, you do not have to file your application for social security benefits online.  if you already have an appointment, would like to speak to an agent, or wish to cancel or change an appointment date, you may do this by calling your closest Social Security office or the following number between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday to Friday: 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778)
