PTSD

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I'm clueless about filing a claim for SSDI and need some good advice. I had a traumatic accident and since have noticed a number of personal issues that correspond to PTSD. That accident happened 9 years ago and was gruesome enough that a friend of mine ( he's a psychologist) said I probably have PTSD from it. I shrugged it off back then but now wonder if I should have.

Disfunction to the point of being unemployable

My husband partied hard as a young man in his teens and early 20's. He is now 60 years old and so disfunctional (I.e. concentration and the ability to successfully manage even minor chores) he really can't hold a job. I have been supporting him for 18 years. It's not that he doesn't want to work...he truly does and he tries hard but can't manage to write up simple paperwork correctly. He has also had 4 very major surgeries in the past six years that have left him unable to do physical labor. Any other ideas on how to help him?

Having Problems with my Asperger's Son

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I am representative payee on my son's account. As part of his life experience learning he was given a bank card with access to his funds. He has taken advantage of his funds. As with many Asperger's, he is a loner and has clung to the internet for socialization. He has online "gaming" friends. He says he is NOT naive and that he would never fall for online scams but I feel that he has. He has multiple charges to Western Union and buys gifts for people. I pointed out that he is "buying" friends. HE is VERY upset ...like meltdown upset. He is 27 years old now.

I already had my disability hearing in front of the judge and waiting to hear back. I've been diagnosed with major depressive disorder recurrent episodes, severe with psychosis, ptsd, and schizo affective disorder- bipolar type and migraines. I currently work 10 hours a week sometimes it can vary and be 15-25hrs once in awhile. I don't make over a thousand dollars a month. The judge asked my attorney to have my employer fill out a paper about my job.

Change payees at mother's request

My son is 15 yrs old with autism. We lived in an apartment his entire life until recently when I purchased a home. It was hard trying to get him to become accustomed to his new bedroom, so I changed payees and allowed him to move in with my aunt who still lives at the apartment complex. It was hard to change his surrounding. Now, I am about to relocate out of state with my job...as a mother & not the payee, I will feel more comfortable if my mother will be taking care of him while I am out of state.
