Function Report Remarks/Details

A book I bought ('The Wilborn Method - SSD: A Step-by-Step Guide to Getting Your Benefits' by Ralph Wilborn) wrote about the importance of details when filling out this form. They mention that the 'Remarks' area does not provide enough room. They suggest ADDING papers to that area as needed.

I get their point. But on the one hand, I see SSA needing details BUT also needing a concise report. So, is a 'happy medium' the best way to go? Provide details as needed - but don't write them a novel such as 'War and Peace'?! Grin.

Thank you,

Application Process

I have a very complicated case, but I will spare you the details, for now. I have been reading and it appears that the first step when filing for SSDI is to determine if you have enough quarters. If you do not have enough, does SSA continue with the disability determination anyway or are you denied at step one?

Re-applying for SSDI question

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I applied in 2013 and was initially denied (of course), notified of the option to appeal for a hearing and waited for the hearing. 3 weeks before my hearing my lawyer contacted me and said that we can do the hearing but I would loose because of the amount of income I had made for 2014. So I dropped it.

My condition became worse in November of 2014 and I have been off work since then, I accepted STD through work. Now I am filing for LTD through work . I've been on FMLA since November.

My question is do I have to start the process with my lawyer all over again?

Hello I need help with my function report adult form. I filled it out, but needed an additional page due to needing more room. Does this look okay, or is to much. Please help. I was told this is the time for them to see your real issues.

Question on Claim and Paperwork

Hi everything. Thank you for taking the time to read this. My father is currently applying for Disability... At this point he's just waiting on a response to his application.

Yesterday we received a letter saying any children under the age of 18 in the household may be eligible for help as well. Does this mean he was accepted and they are just trying to figure out the amount?

Health Care Coverage While Applying For SSDI

In August 2014 I was laid off from work and have continued receiving Kaiser Permanente health care coverage through my former employer's COBRA program, subsidized for 3 months. I am now faced with a substantially higher "group rate" premium for the next 15 months of COBRA eligibility ...

I was determined to be permanently disabled with Parkinsons Disease in September 2014, and applied with SSA for both early retirement at age 62, and for SSDI benefits. My early retirement benefits will begin in January 2015, and my SSDI claim is still in process, with DDS in California ...
