HELP! Approved SSDI by judge, but had too much assets, now gone & in dire need!

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I was awarded SSDI and judged disabled by a judge in 2012 for a case opened in 2009 for my heart condition and Multiple Sclerosis. Meanwhile, was separated from abusive spouse but it took 5 years for divorce to be final. However, during the divorce process - and not long after I got my first SSDI checks, I was denied further benefits by local SS office because the spouse inherited large amount of stocks, money, and cashed in his retirement (without my knowledge or any of my portion).

Advice on Reconsideration for "Overpaid Disability Benefits"

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Hello Everyone,

I'm writing to get advice from experts in dealing with SSA claims -- specifically a recent SSA letter stating that my girlfriend was overpaid for disability benefits.

Questions:

1. Should we claim Reconsideration, Waiver or Reconsideration & Waiver? I'm specifically interested if one gives better hope for future success during Personal Conference and review of file.

I need help for a family member

My cozen was hit by a car some time ago and is 100% permanent and total disabled, She will never be able to walk again or perform the duties of most jobs. The problem that were running into is that the lawyer that she got has done little to help get her disability as well as took most of what she received in back pay, and rarely ever contacts her. It is hard for me to do much where I am at because I live in Florida and she lives in South Carolina.
She said that she was receiving one form for around $400 a month and then was allotted another that was randomly taken from her.
