I am on ssd making $1800 a month, and have been for 10 years

I am 62yo and sitting a Home has me more depressed

If I decide to try and work , how much ( gross) am I allowed to make at my age
Of 62?

Is there an age I can get to when there is no limit on how much I can make?

When I get to the age of 65 or 66 will my disability amount review to straight social

Security and my $1800 amount reduced?

Hi Lloyd,

As long as you don't exceed the monthly limit of $1,180 you can work and receive benefits!

Hi There,

As long as your monthly income does not exceed $1,180, it will be okay.

I won my case for SSI but am not able to recieve benefits because my husband gets 1307.00 in SSDI. That leaves us with very low income. What can I do? Do I try to find a way to make money and if I do will I no longer be considered disabled? I am in rough shape but I do not know how we are going to survive on the amount of money my husband gets. We are being punished for being married :(

Hi Jill,

Your husband's income exceeds the SGA limit for 2018. Are you sure that is the correct amount?

If you are able to work, the SSA may not consider you disabled and you would not be able to receive SSI benefits.

Also. what about other incomes. like 2nd hand sales at flea markets or online like ebay.
do this money coming in count as income and if so, what is the cap til it effects my ssi benefits?
