The SSA will generally send a letter with this information to you, it generally takes a bit for them to make a decision. Hang in there!
Wat is a onset date mean
Onset date refers to the date the SSA believes you began experiencing your condition. This date is used to determine backpay (if you qualify and for how long you should be awarded backpay for).
My status on line dated today 9/12 says under review. Went to drop off updates medical papers and was told they won't need anymore medical paper work? Any advice on what under review means?
I really could not say that "under review" is any indication about the disposition of your case.
Under review means they are still looking at your case a little closer I would get more med papers to them the more the better I had to go all the way to alj but I won hang on almost there
Great points Lyn! Many claims are denied due to lack of medical evidence. The more support you have, the better your chances are in showing you are medically eligible for benefits.
Initially when I applied for disability online the last said I could apply for SSDI as well. I see the status of my SSI (denied) but I can no longer see anything regarding the SSDI.
You may want to contact the SSA at 1-800-772-1213.
Awarded SSI(disability) but app for SSDI no longer shows on website
It may be that a decision has been made. If so, you should receive a letter in the mail explaining the decision.
I was just wondering if you all done looked at my case .
We have not because we are not affiliated with the SSA or the federal government. You may want to call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213.
I went online to check the status it says today the decision was made n I was denied for ssi n then for social security (disability) it's appeal under review
A medical decision has been made and we are working on processing your decision. A social security representative may contact you or you appointed representative directly if we need any additional information or documents.
What does this mean? Is it good or bad?
You may have been denied SSI because you exceeded the limit for income or financial resources. The other message just means they're working on your case. Hang in there!
Had a hearing April 10 an the website say my benefit is currently being processed no decision letter yet,MY attorney said the all said it been to long, when I called the office they said it's with the ajl...
My status say the following:A medical decision has been made and we are working to process your benefit application. A Social Security Representative may contact you directly if we need any additional documents or information. Just trying to figure out what it means.
It just means that they are in the process of reviewing your case and that they will reach out to you if they need anymore information regarding your medical history.
My status says the following Benefit application under review
A medical decision has been made and we are working on processing your benefit application....
So I called my local office and she told me I was denied, and that she was going to put my denial letter in the mail. I then called SSA (the 1-800 number) and she told me that my case was still pending, that a decision has not been made..
Just wondering who to believe??
I am so sorry to hear that, I can't say for sure who's right in this situation, but I wouldn't rush to any conclusions until you get your decision in the mail.
I called about my disability and said my case is closed said decision been made will get letter in mail so what does this mean ? Good or bad ?
It's neither good nor bad, that is standard protocol from the SSA. They have made a decision regarding your case and you will receive a letter with that decision sometime in the near future.
Wishing you nothing but the best.
Hello. I have been waiting 23 months so far for my ssdi hearing. My status online hasn't changed the entire 23 months it is still in hearing processing etc. I had called a couple of months ago and was told I had a judge assigned and my case was ready to schedule. I called again this week and was rudely told they are back logged, no hearing date and have a long wait. Is it normal to be at almost two years since appeal was submitted and no sign of a hearing any time soon? I am in NYC but my hearing will be at the Jersey City ODAR via video conference. I appreciate any info anyone may have. Thank you
I'm sorry to hear about that! In some areas, the wait time for a hearing is longer due to volume of appeals.
If you have ssdi and ssi decisions made -SSI denied. Yet SSDI states decision made-" appeal reviewing:Does this mean both will still be denied ? I worked enough quarters for SSDI. Thank you
That's not necessarily the case. It's pretty tough to be approved for both SSDI and SSI and there are many cases where one is denied one and approved for the other.
What does it mean if the ssd status says "your disability claim has been processed"?
It may means they have received it and entered the information into their system.
i was approve by the DDS,on sept29,then my claim went to the SSDRC,i check my online status and it said that a medical decision has been made and we are working to process your benefit application.Do that mean that i was approve to get my benefit started.
It could mean you're approved, or it could mean that the SSA is still processing your claim. You need to both medically and technically qualify for disability benefits so the entire approval may not be complete yet.
My husband received a letter stating that he needs to come to the school office by Nov 15 to talk to them about him needing a representative payee before benefits can be paid. Also the website says a medical decision has been made. Does this sound like he has been approved?
"A medical decision has been made" doesn't mean that that he is approved, that just means that they're readying the next part of the process of deciding whether or not the application for Social Security is to be approved or not.
What does dds processing medical portion in your state mean step 2 of 3 Good or bad been 6 weeks
It means that your application is being worked on, however that doesn't mean anything as far as a good or bad result.
Your claim for Disability benefits has been denied. A notice has been sent to you with a detailed explanation of the decision.
Has anyone had this but got a letter and it said fully favorable
Great question! I would like to see a positive answer because I got the same notification online but the next day the denied notification despaired. Is that good or bad?
I apologize, but this is actually not something I have seen before. I hope that someone else on the forum has seen a similar situation and can provide you with a better answer.
i went online to check the status of my claim. I was approved for social security disability on 11/13/2017 but have not received any benefits yet. Also,it says that ssid is being processed and they are working on my benefit application and the date was 11/09/2017. Can you please tell me what does this mean?
Being processed means they have received it and entered the information into their system.
My disability claim was approved and verified by phone with the local Social Security office. This approval was months ago and I have not received an award letter. It seems like SS office is stalling. Is this on purpose? What reason would they have for not sending award letter after approval? Thank you for any suggestions
It may take a while for the SSA to write their decision, process your approval, and send an award letter. Hang in there!
My initial claim says a medical determination has been made and my application is under review... Was it approved or denied???
We could not say, you may want to contact the SSA regarding this, you can do so at 1-800-772-1213.
I was wondering what the status of my claim is? Thank you. My email.is
We couldn't say as we are not affiliated with the SSA or the Federal government, and as such we don't have that information. You can find out more about checking your claim at all the stages of the process here:
A decsision was made on my appeal an the case is closed can anyone tellbme if that means denied or approved
It doesn't mean that your case was denied or approved. They've filed your case and you will receive the decision soon.
Appeal Under Review
My hearing was August 11, 2017.
A medical decision has been made and we are working to process your decision. A Social Security Representative may contact you or your appointed representative directly if we need any additional documents or information.
12/07/2017 & 12/08/2017
When I call Social Security, I receive an automated message stating a “proof of income” will be mailing within 7 days.
Can anyone give me some insight to what that means….lol….was I approved?
Thank you in advance.
It doesn't mean that your case was approved...but it doesn't mean that it was denied either. It means that they've filed your case and you will receive the decision soon.
Thank you, Eric for the encouraging words.
However, I called the main Social Security office and my claim was DENIED. I currently have an attorney and have already been in contact with him. Thank you for approving my post.
