I don't agree with the decision because,i've been diagnosed with all these conditions.I have had all these conditions since before i got out of the military.

The field office reopened my disability claim from 2016. My question is how often are they approved? And how long does these take? They reopened for good cause. Thank you

Hi Buffy,

The time it takes varies on a case by case basis! The approval rate depends on if you still meet the requirements for SSI or SSDI.

I've been in reconsideration phase now since December 2019. Its almost August 2020 and my status is still processing my reconsideration. With Coronavirus going around, is this normal?

Hi William,

It can take months to hear a decision about your claim. I would continue to monitor your claim incase more information is requested from you.

Hi
I am in the reconcideration stage at the moment. My initial claim filed on Jan 10, 2020 was denied due to lack of medical evidence. In June 2020 I was denied SSI so appealed. Since my initial denial I have been diagnosed by specialists with COPD, coronary artery disease, hypothyroidism, high cholesterol, angina, dyspnea on exertion, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder as well as stress incontinence. My adjudicator. Said in November 2020 that he has sent my records to the medical consultant for review and its now Jan 2021 and still waiting. Is there a chance I will be approved? I have had all the tests needed that would qualify me according to the blue book. I am 55 years old as well.

Hi Kay,

It seems like they are still reviewing your case. It's hard to say whether they will approve your case or not. I would continue to monitor your claim incase more information is requested from you.
